Birds & Nests
Okay, I’m partial to birds. They show up in many of my pieces. Birds have been represented in art and literature throughout history. They are powerful symbols in most cultures; life, freedom, transformation, intelligence, even death.
My birds start in my camera or sketch book and fly through my hard drive before they perch in the wax.
Nests are synonymous with shelter and home, however messy or loose or precarious. Mother Nature appeals to the mother in me with her nests. I can’t resist them.
