HOT ART: Basic Encaustic techniques (all levels)
This is a perfect place to start! This is a high energy, hands-on, two-day encaustic workshop. We will discuss history, safety, how medium gets made, types of wax, prepping substrates, care of encaustic art and hands-on demonstrations.
We will explore a variety of encaustic techniques, including applying and fusing wax, layering translucent color, adding and reducing texture, masking, stencils, mark making, image transfer techniques and more. Participants will leave with a thorough understanding of the medium.
