April 26 & 27, 9-4:00

Wax & Gelli

This two-day workshop combines two extremely intuitive processes: gelatin printing and encaustic techniques. Learn how to make prints using gelli plates and acrylic paint. No printing press needed! The prints created will be used as the springboard for encaustic creations, using encaustic techniques as a way to enhance and expand the image. NOTE: Prior experience with encaustic is required

 

June 22&23, 9-4:00

Hot Art: Basic Encaustic Techniques

This two day hands-on encaustic class will explore a variety of techniques that include making your own medium, mixing colors, prepping substrates, fusing and layering wax and color, adding and reducing texture, masking and stencils, image transfer and more. This is a high energy encaustic techniques class with plenty of time for lots of hands-on time to make your own hot art.

 

August 17 & 18, 9-4:00

Encaustic Art: Expand & Experiment

This two-day workshop is designed to expand your basic encaustic skills. Plan to experiment with encaustic techniques including painting, incising, accretion, sgraffito, image transfer, monoprinting and assemblage. NOTE: Prior experience with encaustic is required.
