Boats
My little boats are made from scraps of paper folded and soaked in encaustic. I like that they reflect one of the earliest uses of pigment and wax - to seal and decorate ships back in 400 BC.
Boats are for voyages, floating, safety, passage, adventures … You can drift in a boat or you can be purposeful about getting across some water.
I stitch them on to the panel so any real voyage is unlikely. But buoyant? Yes, I hope so.
